Shoney’s is involved annually in a national campaign that increases the awareness of the thousands of children who go missing each year. Shoney’s Restaurants hosts a series of Shoney’s KidCare PhotoID events each year around Knoxville and surrounding communities. Shoney's hope is to educate parents about the steps they can take to protect their children.

Shoney’s joins the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in creating free KidCare Photo IDs that include a color photograph, fingerprints, important information such as height, weight, date of birth, in addition to a medical profile, the Seven Rules for Safety, and a 24-hour NCMEC hotline number. In the past 12 years this program has successfully provided over 28,000 children with IDs. Through Shoney’s commitment to the community we hope to continue to provide IDs to thousands more.

Shoney's hope is that this personalized safety document will assist the police in bringing home your child in the event that he or she is ever reported missing. For more information about KidCare Photo ID events, contact us through this website or call 865-690-6331.

In August 2007 Shoney's Restaurants along with partners Children's Hospital, The Knoxville Police Department, Safety City, Star 102.1, WATE - TV 6, The Knoxville News-Sentinel and Cover Kids processed over 2,000 child ID's.  Sponsors are making plans now for dates for 2008.
